2017 'Round-up' - It's Been Quite A Year!

Well it's been quite the year!

2017 has been full of eventful happenings for Upcycled Creative. Not only have we upped sticks and moved to a new and exciting premises, we've also entered some great competitions and collaborated with some awesome people. So it's time to have a little 'round-up' of just what's been going on over the last 12 exciting months.

Upping Sticks

We made the decision to pack up the workshop in our existing home at Markeaton Park and head further into the beautiful countryside of Matlock in the Derbyshire Dales. We've settled in nicely at Cromford Mills and have been enjoying our awesome, slightly bigger than previous, 'four walls' which have enabled us to grow and get even more creative.  It's been a beautiful change and being surrounded by inspiring scenery and of course other creative businesses, Upcycled Creative have well and truly found what we call home.

Art as Life

If you've been following us on social media, you'll know how much we love to collaborate with other creative businesses and also get involved in community projects. Earlier this year we became involved in Art as Life, a project curated by Lightseekers, a creative social enterprise, who specialise in cross-cultural education and deliver thought provoking programs to low-income areas where creative engagement is low and students are likely to experience exclusion and discrimination. We had the privilege and the pleasure of working with enthusiastic and talented individuals and look forward to how we can do more in the future.

Blue Patch Business Awards

We love to enter a competition annually, and this year was no exception. We were shortlisted for the Blue Patch Business Awards and although we weren't crowned the winners, we were super chuffed to be one of the finalists. Fingers crossed to receive a win in our up and coming competition entries.

We often get asked how to achieve the 'vintage' look when it comes to upcycling and we recommended 'Fusion Mineral Paint' and 'Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint', so we thought... why not become a stockist! That way our customers can have a go themselves at upcycling and they can come to us for great products to produce great results.

These are just a few of the exciting things we've been up to, but there's so much more to share. If you want to keep up to date with what Upcycled Creative are getting involved in, then the best way is to follow us on social media. Head on over to our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter or feel inspired on Instagram.

We can't wait for what 2018 has in store... can you?

Here's to a very Happy New Year to you all!
