Happy Mothers' Day!
Mothering Sunday falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent and was a day when children who worked as domestic servants were given the day off to return home. Along the way they might stop to pick wildflowers, presenting a small bunch to their mother on arriving home. It originated from the time when, once a year, people were expected to return to their mother church (home church). Mother's Day is marked today with the giving of cards and presents, including flowers.
If you're looking to treat your mum this Mothers' Day then why not give a gift with a difference this year? At Upcycled Creative we have a “Fusion” gift set that includes a brush and pot of paint, enough to paint a couple of bedside tables. It is also suitable for beginners, coming complete with step-by-step instructions. With Fusion Mineral Paints there are over 50 colours to choose from and all are easy to apply and provide great coverage giving an impressive matte finish. “Little Star” is a yellow Fusion paint bringing to mind daffodils or choose “Coral”, Pantone's colour of the year, which resembles the colour of roses.
If you're looking for something that bit more special then why not consider booking a place on one of our furniture painting or upholstery workshops. These are all-day workshops where your mum will learn the necessary skills to work on a project before taking home her very own finished piece. The workshop even includes a delicious lunch.
We can also create bespoke workshops personalised to your specific requirements. Whether it's a particular upcycling project or a workshop that includes afternoon tea and cakes, just pop in to our shop in Wirksworth or give us a call and we will help you create your perfect gift.
Make this Mothers' Day one to remember with a gift that promises to be as unique as your mum.
