Wirksworth Wizarding Day
The market town of Wirksworth is set to weave its magic on visitors to the town at the end of this month. On Saturday 26th October the Wirksworth Wizarding Day will be taking place and promises to be even bigger and better than last year's event.
Also not to be missed is the reopening of the ever popular Wizard Works pop-up shop, selling officially licensed Harry Potter gifts. It's open until January so promises the perfect place to find those special Christmas gifts. Look carefully though as Muggles won't be able to spot it until 11am on the 26th October!
Visit the Wirksworth School of Wizarding and Witchcraft at Wirksworth Heritage Centre and make a magical bean box, owl keyring, Growler letter or mythical beast paper puppet! Head to Mount Cook Adventure Centre for wand making, magical fire lighting and even practise your flying skills on the Rooftop Rider Zip Wire. There's broomstick making, magic shows, Quidditch, and a screening of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in Middleton and at the Northern Lights Cinema. Enjoy spooky storytelling with Rachel Murray, visit the owlery and meet snakes, dragons and lizards, head to Wirksworth Library for crafts and book activities, and make your own spell bag at Two Wolves Gift Shop. These are just some of the many activities taking place around the town – to find out more click here.
Here at The Coffee Bunker we're busy making our own potions in time for the special day. Take a break from the bustling streets and rest a while over Fresh Coffee, Hot Chocolate or a Tea Brew. They're certainly not your average drinks and will be served to you, still magically bubbling from the cauldron! We've also got some tasty snacks as well including Pumpkin Wraps, Jackfruit and Magic Spells Ice-cream.
Why not pop in at lunchtime and enjoy our delicious lunch menu that includes Deli Wraps, Smoothies or Homemade Soup. Pause a while in The Coffee Bunker and you'll be able to see the magic we've been working with our upcycled furniture and lighting. See how we've waved our magic wand and turned worn truck tyres into tables, old wooden step ladders into useful shelving and broken supermarket trolleys into statement seating to name just a few.
With something for all ages, there's never been a better time to visit Wirksworth! #wirksworthwizarding
