What’s involved and how does it work:
Workshops are run for six hours between 10am - 4pm.
Workshops run with a maximum of six people.
A great way to make new friends.
Learn something new.
Bespoke party bookings on request.
The relaxed day will see you create a number of glass pieces depending on your chosen design. There are free standing curves or mini dishes for tealights or why not create glass walls which can be attached together to make a 4 sided structure.
You will work with raw glass and decorative elements to create a design which will need to be taken and fired by Stevie in her studio, finished cleaned and then returned to UPCYCLED CREATIVE for collection. If you require your glass to be posted, this can be discussed on the day but may incur an additional cost.
What we will cover:
After an introduction into the Health and Safety aspects of working with glass (we keep this as brief as possible!) you will be taken through the process of cutting glass.
After everyone has a practise go we will look into the materials on offer for you to use throughout the session. These will include sheets of coloured glass, metal shims and wire, glass paint, rods and frit.
You may have an idea for a design so feel free to bring colour samples and your own inspirational images along if you wish but just keep in mind that we may need to adjust them depending on colours available and the techniques we will be using.
Stevie will have a variety of samples for you to see as well as photographs of previous students creations. We will work together on a design and then spend the rest of the day making your unique fused glass form…. And drinking coffee (or tea).
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Stevie and why not like/follow her on social media and start to gather ideas of what you might like to make!
